Long Ago Portrait

This is a portrait my father did in the early 60s in Frankfurt around the time of my birth. I did not know of its existence until today. This woman’s daughter apparently found me on the internet and emailed me a photo of this painting. You can imagine my surprise.

I really love my father’s painting style and so wish he had done more. He had a habit of giving away the ones he did so, so who knows how many more could be out there? Thank you, Sara Carter, for bringing this to my attention after so many years.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed looking at your father’s work on this site. (I found your site because I was curious if http://www.myfathershand.com was taken – sometimes when I draw something, I see my father’s drawing there.
I’m sorry you lost your dad. My folks are both pushing 90. They’re both doing well, but I can see them really aging. There are many things I don’t know about my folks, esp. my dad. (Funny, I was thinking about that today.)
Anyway, I really like the site…take care!
    Steve
